Yakuza 6: The Song of Life Getting a PC Release Soon?
SEGA’s Yakuza series has been exclusive to the PlayStation consoles but that changed after they announced that Yakuza 0 and Kiwami will be coming to PC. Yakuza 0 is a great PC port and is one of the top-selling games on Steam at the time of writing this article. Now that SEGA can see that the PC platform is a viable one, it seems to be only a matter of time until the rest of the games make their way onto this platform. In SEGA’s fiscal year report the platform for Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is stated to be PlayStation 4 and PC.
As seen in the screenshot above, this could be an error on their part but that seems highly unlikely. Yakuza 0 has been selling quite well and SEGA did say that if Yakuza 0 and Kiwami sold well, they would bring the other games to PC as well. This could be a great time to bring in new fans to the series as 0 and Kiwami(The remake of Yakuza 1) are out/ coming soon and Kiwami 2 should be rolling out soon too. While Yakuza 3 and 4 don’t a have a proper remake like 1 and 2, they do have remasters that are coming out on the PlayStation 4 soon. If they were to port that to the PC in time for the Yakuza 6 PC release, that would be a dream come true for fans. Nonetheless, Yakuza 6 on PC would be quite stunning due to the new engine and the power of the PC allowing players and fans of the series to experience the final saga of Kiryu Kazuma in 4k 60fps glory should they choose to.
