Cooling may take a hit as Intel Ditches Solder TIM on 9th Gen ‘F’ Chips- Update!

Recently we covered Intel’s controversial move to ditch sTIM on 9th Gen ‘F” series processors.

However, according to Tom’s Hardware, some i5 9400F models might have been accompanied by pTIM (Polymer TIM, technical term for Thermal Grease), but solely as an exception of manufacturing source.
According to some sources, Intel aims to make sTIM standard for both i5 9400 and i5 9400F. All i7 and i9 ‘K’ series chips will come with sTIMs regardless of their ‘F’ inclination. All core i3 ‘F’ series chips will be accompanied by basic thermal grease.
