Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Beta- All you need to know

Following the reveal of the multiplayer which received a mixed reaction, Activision has announced the format of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Beta program. The Beta program will be opened first to PS4 players. There are different variables including your platform or whether you have pre-ordered the game which will determine when you get to play the beta. 

In the end, it doesn’t matter whether you pre-ordered the game or not, you will be able to take the game for a spin. 

All you need to know about the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta-

Activision announced that there are gonna be two weekends, over the course of which the beta will take place. Though the weekends constitute 5 days each(wish that happened in real life).

The first test will be exclusive to the PS4 and only the people who have pre-ordered the game will be able to access it.  It will later open to all PS4 users.

The second run of the beta will include XBOX One, PS4, and PC with the support of cross-play.

This beta run, like the previous one, will first open to users who have pre-ordered the game before opening up to everyone. XBOX Live Gold will be required to play the game on XBOX. 

Beta weekend 1 dates (PS4 only)

  • October 8-12
    • Early access (PS4/PS5 pre-orders): October 8-9
    • Open access: October 10-12

Beta weekend 2 dates (PS4, Xbox One, PC — cross-play enabled)

  • October 15-19
    • Early access (Xbox One/Series X/PC pre-orders, all PS4 owners): October 15-16
    • Open access: October 17-19
