Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Offers Completely Immersive Way To Play The Game
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey aims to iterate on the great formula set in Origins and expand in ways that takes the series further in the new direction. A big part of what Ubisoft wants the players to experience is the immersion, and hence they have added two ways to play the game.
Guided Mode – A more traditional experience. Markers are displayed at all times and quest objectives are given to you automatically. This will allow players to play in a manner that they are familiar with.
Exploration Mode – A newer approach to playstyle. The player must investigate the world to uncover targets and quest objectives. This is the way Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is meant to be played. This sounds a lot more immersive. It encourages exploration and demands that the player pay attention to what’s going on around him.
I personally am excited to try the new exploration mode, and I hope that the game is designed accordingly. I have greatly enjoyed the likes of Divinity: Original Sin, which also does not give quest markers and objectives, and found that to be an extremely refreshing and rewarding experience.
