Far Cry 4 is every bit the action-packed adventurous joyride you could have possibly hoped for, and exploits the strengths of the series expertly. Ubisoft has done a brilliant job in creating a fascinating world in exquisitely intricate detail; mystical, veiled, and shrouded in mystery. Set in the cradle of the Himalayas with an abundance of beautiful vegetation and wildlife sprawled all over, this game is a visual treat like never before. Get set for a game that is sure to enthral you beyond measure and reward you with a visual treat.
The story follows Ajay Ghale, who was born in Kyrat, a little country sleeping in the arms of the Himalayas, but was raised in the USA, and has now returned to his homeland to scatter his mother's ashes. Little did he know that his country was in turmoil and the tyrannical king, Pagan Min was laying the beautiful land to waste? Kyrat is an astonishingly magical place, and Ubisoft has gone all out in making it one of best open-world experiences ever. The visuals are incredibly stunning, and apart from the forest cover, the animal life is definitely something to watch out for, almost in the literal sense. As good as the animated renderings are, wild creatures can have an active role in the game, giving definitive meaning to "adventure". For instance, you can learn to ride an elephant, or use bait to attract all sorts of animals to distract the enemy while you take them out silently. Oh and by the way, if you have a friend over at your place, you're in luck. The two of you can set out together to take down Pagan Min's oppressive empire. But how can you defeat a king with hardly any resources and without combat training? Not to worry. Along with the normal progression, where you gain fast-travel points by reclaiming the enemy's territory, there are plenty of side-missions to increase your XP, expand your inventory and learn specific skills and other interests to invest in to raise money for arms. Apart from that, the locals are always willing to help, and you can also join up with other rebel leaders and discuss your next move. You can even find mercenaries for hire, if you have enough money in the wallet. If you think the fun ends here, you better hold your breath. Welcome, to the mythical land of Shangri-La. Go ahead and fight magical creatures and demons, and maybe learn a few supernatural tricks. As heart-stoppingly surreal as Kyrat is, Shangri-La is a notch higher. From out-of-the-world environs to having a tiger as a combat companion, the legendary locale has it all. Still think you'll be able to avoid this game? Doubtful. Hurry and get your copy now, and go crazy in Kyrat.
